🐝 Brantley Notes:

Thank you again for all of the kind love and support this October.   Below is the VERY kind gift that was given to me on Friday from the staff and kids.

We hope that you have had a safe, fun, and extra hour of sleep this weekend.  It is November and the beginning of cooler weather.

I encourage you to make a plan to come this Thursday, Nov. 5th to our LEARNING LAB FAMILY NIGHT.    It will be from 5-6:30 pm with a light dinner (nachos and/or hot dogs) + engaging family activities both for at school and to take home.   It is a come and go evening, so come out and enjoy an evening of family fun.

Warmly,
Principal Brantley 💜💛

BEE Present

We appreciate your ongoing support in helping your child succeed in school. One of the most important ways to set them up for success is by making sure they are at school every day and on time.

We understand that mornings can be busy and that illnesses do happen. If your child is feeling unwell, of course, we want them to rest and recover. But if they’re feeling well, being at school and arriving on time gives them the best chance to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Here are our attendance policies:

·      Our school day begins at 7:45 AM.
  • Any arrival after 8:00 AM or before the end of the school day is considered a partial absence and will count as unexcused unless you have a medical/ counselor note.
  • If your child is sick, please call the school nurse or office to notify us. They can be excused by a medical professional or by our nurse G. if she assesses them.
  • If your child is absent, notify the school by phone or email. The district policy will allow up to 3 excused "notified" absences for things like unexpected sicknesses.
  • To have an absence excused by a professional, bring to school or email (ssims@mfisd.org) a note from a doctor, dentist, or counselor.

For unexcused absences:
You will receive an automated district email when your child has three unexcused absences. After five to seven unexcused absences, you'll get another notification and a call from the school to sign a Truancy Prevention Form. On the 10th unexcused absence, your child is considered truant.

This policy applies to all students enrolled in public school, ages 3 and older.

If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Carpenter. Let's work together to ensure your child is on time and ready to learn!
