Field Day Logistics

Field Day will be tomorrow.
Any family joining, needs to check in at the front office with their ID and then join in on the fun.

  • Races/ Tug o war start around 8:30am
  • K-2 AM Events start at 9:30
  • Prek AM rotations in the back of the school
  • 3-5 PM Events start at 12:30pm

**There is a rain plan. We will notify everyone of any changes due to the weather.

NEW - Want to Order Your School Supplies for next year?

This year, PTO will be offering an amazing opportunity for you to order your student's school supplies. This is a win-win.

  1. All supplies match the District's school supply list.
  2. The price is comparable to nearby stores.
  3. Delivered to your student's classroom by the first day of school.
  4. Proceeds will go to the PTO/ school as a fundraiser.
  5. Warranty of supplies such as headphones.

We hope that our families enjoy this new, fun way to be ready for the school year with no fuss, and to also raise money for the school.

STAAR Result Timeline

The students did a fantastic job this week finishing up STAAR testing even with the 1 day internet delay. I was a proud principal of their hard work.

Many people ask when we get results. Here is the timeline.

5/29: Admin gets PASS/ FAIL results.
  • Admin spends Friday, May 29th, calling ONLY students who failed Language Arts and Math.
  • Admin will provide summer school information.

Wednesday, June 3rd: Summer school begins.

Families will get an email with detailed student access/ reports around June 16th.

Anxious Generation

Summer Book for Staff/ Parents

Join us for a Community Wide Book Study

This summer, we are providing an opportunity for both staff and parents to come together to read the book, The Anxious Generation.

We will provide 3 different in person/ online opportunities for you to join our community to discuss and talk about what it means to have technology in 2026 with our children. Each session will be the exact same, so you only need to attend one of them.

May/ June:
Begin reading the book, The Anxious Generation.

*Mrs. Brantley has 15 books to check out if you do not want to purchase your own.

*Complete the survey at the bottom to request a book to check out.

Option 1: Wednesday, June 17th - 3 pm
  • Zoom Option AND
  • Person Discussion Option (SWE Library) 

Option 2: Wednesday, July 22 - 6 pm
  • Same Information as Option 1
  • Only Zoom Option
  • No In person

Option 3: September Session 
We will have an option at the end of September for any new families.

  • This will be an online and in person option.

Student Book: Amazing Generation

Are you interested in your child(ren) reading and discussing it with you?

The Amazing Generation is a book that just came out for ages 9 and up. It tackles much of the same content as The Anxious Generation, but in a kid friendly way.

Mrs. Brantley will provide a Book Club Lunch at the beginning of school, during school, for any student at SWE who has read the book. Parents will be welcome to join us that day.

Tiny Tot Animal Program

SWE and the PreK classes are so thankful for the PTO sponsored end of year animal program that they were part of last Friday. Students learned and were able to pet all sorts of animals, from a hedgehog to rabbits to a bearded lizard to a tortoise. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
