This Thursday, will be our Family STEM Engagement Night. We will open the doors at 5pm and end the evening at 6:30pm.

We are excited to have stations for families to complete that are hands on, fun, and create engaging opportunities to learn.

The Science Mill will also sponsor "Math Universe" stations. We are excited to partner with them for this evening.

Your student will get a ticket for every station that they complete We will have a drawing for prizes on Friday morning.

Coach Spelman sent home forms to purchase a Turkey Trot shirt. The attached picture provides all of the information you need for the event. We are excited to see them run and trot on Wednesday, November 19th, from 5:30-6:30 pm.

SWE will honor Veterans on 11/11 at a special assembly in the gym at 7:35 am that morning. Students will present a program put together by Mrs. Graham to show our appreciation to those who serve in our Armed Forces.

There will be a small reception afterwards to honor any Veteran that attends.

Our SWE Thanksgiving Feast will be on Thursday, November 20th. If you purchased a ticket, they will be at the front lobby for you to take to the line after you ID check in.

If you do not purchase a ticket, we still welcome you to bring your lunch and join your child.

Starting November 6th-November 19th, ANY purchase from Flat Creek Estate - wine, wine club sign-ups, food from their restaurant, or stays in their Airbnb will give back 20% of its proceeds to Spicewood. Alcohol does not need to be purchased to participate.

When you check out, you will need to use the code "GIVE BACK MS" at the Flat Creek checkout.

Spicewood Elementary has several kids that are participating in the production of "The Jungle Book Kids." The show times are Thursday, November 6th at 7pm, Friday, November 7th at 7pm, and Saturday, November 8th at 1pm. Tickets are $5, and children 3 and under are free. 

We appreciate your ongoing support in helping your child succeed in school. One of the most important ways to set them up for success is by making sure they are at school every day and on time.

Every minute counts — when students arrive on time and attend regularly, they’re more connected to their learning, their classmates, and the routines that help their brains grow strong!

We understand that mornings can be busy and that illnesses do happen. If your child is feeling unwell, of course, we want them to rest and recover. But if they’re feeling well, being at school and arriving on time gives them the best chance to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Let’s work together to build great habits that support every student’s learning and growth.

For unexcused absences:

You will receive an automated district email when your child has three unexcused absences. After five to seven unexcused absences, you'll get another notification and a call from the school to sign a Truancy Prevention Form. On the 10th unexcused absence, your child is considered truant.

This policy applies to all students enrolled in public school, ages 3 and older.

Students will be released at 3:15 pm.

RIDE CHANGES: If you have a ride change, notify Sarah Sims at ssims@mfisd.org.

PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE EVERY TIME THERE IS A CHANGE. Following this procedure for ride changes is necessary to ensure that students go to the correct pick-up place for dismissal.
